2 Ways ...

Trawling through the back pages Apartment Therapy I stumbled upon this amazing house tour and settled in to study the rooms in detail ...
This fabulous bedroom is designed and inhabited by Tommy Smythe, a designer for HGTV (alas, I have never seen this channel!) ... there are loads of great shots but I just wanted to focus on the shots of the bedroom ... I ADORE the pale grey walls. The room is undeniably masculine but I could happily live in it ...

And then I followed a link to shots of his old apartment ... bonus!
While I really dig the pale walls above, these deep smokey walls create such an amazing impact with all the art and gold touches ... And while I have tried not to jump on the chevron bandwagon, I cannot deny any longer that it is a completely fabulous decorating accent especially when contrasted against the plaid rug over the end of the bed ...

 Which bedroom do you prefer?

Hello ...

A very belated happy Christmas message for all of my friends and family, wherever in the world you may be... near or far xx
Don't you just love this chandelier draped with ribbons and baubles (we miss you Domino!)? Even with Christmas over I will still be keeping my decorations up for as long as possible!
My work here in the NT is very busy but I am (surprisingly) really enjoying putting my clinical skills back into action after so long away. In my spare time I am trying to master the art of online mood/sample boards (any good site suggestions??), indulging in a bit of non-rushed illustrating,
and watching the tropical storms roll in... lovely x

Away ...

Righto, tomorrow I'm off to work on a remote Aboriginal community for a few weeks over Christmas but posting will definitely still be my priority ... that is of course if my internet works up there!

And yes, fellow Aussies, I know central Australia looks nothing at all like this remote little house on a pretty lake, but I thought this was way cuter for the blog!

Entrance ...

Goodness, quite the equestrian family here...
While I am scared senseless of horses, I still love the odd riding boot lined up in the entrance!
And I'd never pass up that fabulous set of antlers if I stumbled upon them.... stunning

(I have no entrance of course, living with my lovely parents ... but one can dream!)

Styling ...

I'm a busy little badger getting ready to style a big event tomorrow night... hope it turns out half as pretty as this!
Stay tuned for shots later in the week dear friends ...

Sporting Bath ...

Having a serious obsession lately with team photographs lately ... I have a collection of my Dad's cricket team shots from his 20's that I adore ... all those mustaches and 70's hair cuts are hilarious ...

En masse they look so fab, don't you think? I love this shot above ... who would have thought they would look so great in a bathroom?

Ta Dah!

The time has finally arrived to reveal to you all our gorgeous new logo ...
We are both so very happy with how beautifully it has turned out ...
It perfectly combines our love of history and tradition, with the squirrels representing our love of gathering lovely things around us ...
The logo reveal is just the start of the exciting things in W & W land that are gaining momentum ... Stay tuned for the on-line shop, events, interior design and interior styling site coming very, very soon...

Jam Love ...

While glamorously shopping for dog food for the starving Mr H this evening, I stumbled upon a new gourmet section in the local supermarket and was instantly drawn to the exquisite labels on these new condiments... The Regimental Condiment Company. Excitingly, this is an Australian product... would die to know who did their graphics...
The jams are all decorated with a different crest ...
The sauces all have some little soldiers sparring...
And the pickles and chutneys all have a different animal ... all very British Raj I would say!

Now I won't lie - I have just paid $10 for a jar of Raspberry and Blackberry Conserve just for the label, but I think good design is always worth it! God knows I love a good crest ... stay tuned for our new one coming in just a few short weeks ...

Christmas Twigs ...

Apologies for my absence, dear friends!
I have been having a small break from blogging but I now return refreshed and renewed, and super excited that the Christmas month is finally upon us!

Instead of getting ready for winter, here in Australia we are gearing up for the hot, hot, hot. So, I have a created a tree that is sure to survive the sunny rays ... twigs!

And to decorate I've decided to do Christmas like a good pirate with all the nautical paraphernalia I could find... a blue glitter reindeer is slightly off target but surely the fabulous striped bunting made by my Mum is allowed?

(Terrible photo, I know... sorry!)
