Little Barn ...

I think this is my perfect forever house ...
Benno, take note, this is exactly how I want the big red shed to look like ...
I seriously love that wall of glass ...
and the interior is just superb ... might do with a little white paint splashed around though ...!

Exciting Week Ahead ...

Fun weekend at the races ... it was in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by red dirt and I carved up the dance floor all night! It by no means lived up to my intent to be raucus (I was too tired from a big last week I think), but great fun none the less ...
I was distracted the whole time by the most fantastic decorations in the ceiling of the shed where it was held ... I took lots of photos of them and will post them tomorrow when I find my cord thingy ... Mum, you will love them ...

It's going to be a short but great week here at White & Wander- Kim, the funniest and most inherently stylish of my dear friends and authoress of the always fantastic Brown Button, is guest blogging on Thursday and Friday - I can't wait!
She has laid down the law with me once and for all and insisted this is the week ... and I'm so glad ... I can't organise myself out of a paper bag at the moment so it is lovely that she has taken the lead xx
Stay tuned ...

More Puggy Love ...

I am obsessed with Pepper the Pug ... too cute to put into words!
I have had a foul week at work ... so I thought a little pug baby would lift my spirits!
It is a long weekend in Western Australia (I never know what the day off is for though!) and happily I am heading about 300 km away to some country races ... I'm going to get raucous and let my hair down (even though it is in a bob!) ... it is sort of the equivalent of a B & S Ball ... guaranteed to be stacks of fun!
So, I will be back on Tuesday hopefully with some funny tales to tell ... happy weekend dear friends xxx

Dinner Guests II

And I would pair my lovely new napkin rings with these lovelies from Ortolan
and crumpled ticking stripe tea-towels as place mats ...

I apologise that another bit of Nautical slipped in ... woops!

Dinner Guests ...

Cute and practical!

Big fan of the napkin ring myself ...
Have some awesome Pottery Barn numbered ceramic ones that are very proper ... but these would be for a casual dinner around the coffee table with the girls ...

Inky Happiness ...

I would go mad and stamp everything in sight with these!
Get this gorgeousness here ...

J'adore ...

The photos of this divine french barn speak for themselves ... but forgive me for adding a few of my own musings ...
I would happily move in and not change a thing ...

I dream of shelves above a doorway one day ... and these frenchies are pretty nice too ...

Waking up in this loft bedroom would be such a lovely way to start the day ...

I love this blue painted floor ...

All those cafe au lait bowls on open shelving ... utilitarian heaven!
And below, this person owns 3 glass cloches - lucky ducky - they are my favourite thing ...
And here are more shots of those fabulous bookcases ...

What barn would be complete without a casually propped ladder ...?

And back-to-back couches? Awesome use of space ...
It does have a masculine feel, but I just adore it ...
Reminds me of my funny little loft ... oh, how I miss it...

Eyes peeled for abandoned barns in the Hills girls ... we could have a joint holiday abode ...

Bubble Bath ...

Soak up the style in this classic, masculine and sexy bathroom and dressing room ...
Floor to ceiling subway tiles, divine tap ware, a giganto bath and a little leather pig ... wow ...

It belongs, of course, to my second gay husband ... Nate Berkus

I'm Back ...

... I love this pic of a Perth yacht club ...

Back from Perth ... refreshed and much more relaxed after seeing my Mum and my lovely friend Sarah, having many meals out and spending unholy amounts of money ... maxing the credit card always restores the soul I say ....
And I am so glad the Nautical Week didn't bore you all to death ...
Plenty of fun this week too, I promise xx

P.S. Happy Birthday to the gorgeous Sal for yesterday xx

Come About ...

What would Nautical Week be without a nod to the master of all things beachy and casual himself ... Ralph Lauren ...
I don't know if it is the Adelaide girl in me or what ... but I will never tire of this look in interiors ...
I love that it is all a bit crumpled and shanty, with a beat-up old captains chest and lots of stripes ...
Righto - that's Nautical Week done then ... I promise not to saturate you with stripes for at least a few days ... he hee xxx

Salty Dogs ...

Don't let your love of all things nautical be confined to just your home ...
Men look much better on the ocean too ...

Wouldn't you agree ...?

Ticking and Keys ...

These Heirloom quilt and shams from West Elm is seriously floating my boat ... pardon the pun!
As seen over at Apartment Therapy ...

Bunk Love ...

I grew up in a bunk bed ... fairly obvious since I am a twin I suppose!
I was bottom bunk ... and I had an old hanging basket clipped to the upper springs to hold my latest book and bear ...
I used to dream of curtains ... a bunk bed is dramatically improved with a curtain don't you think?

This preppy navy and white version with a red check trim is so good that I bet the adults even want to sleep in here ...

16.9.08

Crumpled Cushions ...

More cushions ...
Am seriously digging these frilly striped darlings from Graham and Green ...
But I would leave them out in the sunshine untill they got all faded and crumpley ... then I would dig them even more ...

Prop Perfection ...

While we are talking all things boats, beaches and captains ... I just love this picture ... styled to perfection ...

Seen over at Designers Block ...

Oh Captain ... My Captain ...

A great shot of a gorgeous and slightly younger Jeff Bridges - he can be my husband for the week since he is already on the boat ...
Love a bit of collar-up, scruffed up hair and 4 day stubble ...
Hmmmm .....

Any objections to my thoery that Jeff is the ultimate silver fox?

Ship Shape ...

Has it become glaringly obvious that I am obsessed with all things nautical ...?
No ... really...? He hee xx

Well, it will be very obvious by Friday because it is Nautical Week here at White & Wander xx

These cushions are my idea of ship shape perfect in every way ...

Fly Away ...

Tomorrow I am off ...!

I wish it was for a holiday but alas I have 2 training courses in Perth (again too gross to talk about) ... and Mum is popping over too - yay!

All of a sudden I am a good blogger and have scheduled an exciting week of posts to keep you interested while I am away ... but just in case you need more inspiration or get sick of me (of course that is highly unlikely!) ... here is a little nod to some of my favourites ...

... Brown Button...

... Tres Dodgeois ...

... Automatism ...

... I *Heart* You ...

... In(side) the Loop ...

... A Cup of Joe ...

I really hope this dog is not the pilot .....

Although I'm sure Rufus could have flown a plane ... he was one smart puggy xx

Drink up ...

Could this be the most gorgeous brewery in the world? The photos are a little eerie, but imagine it in peak condition? Those windows are divine!

Bet Luce would be a little happier at work if she could be in this beautiful space xx

Extravagance ...

One day, when I have my own puppy again, I will buy him this ...
